The Bitly alternative that doesn't paywall the basics. QR Chameleon gives you dynamic QR codes editable anytime (no reprinting), branded short links on qrch.am, or bring your own domain, with real-time analytics, free API access (1,250 calls/month, no credit card), built-in landing pages, and a unique AI-powered Chameleon Gallery with viral affiliate links that pay 10% recurring commissions on every referral. Bootstrapped and founder-direct. No credit card to start.

I built QR Chameleon after getting tired of QR and link shortener platforms that overcharge for basic analytics or no analytics.
The core mechanic is simple and (as far as I can tell) unique in this space: every link and QR code you create carries your affiliate ID. If someone signs up for a paid plan after touching one of your links, you earn 10% of their subscription, every month, for as long as they stay subscribed. Not a one-time payment. Recurring.
The Chameleon Gallery is where it gets weird. You can generate AI chameleons, they live in the public gallery alongside everyone else's. Each chameleon becomes a Google searchable page disguised as a 24/7 affiliate worker...potentially earning you 10% on any account that signs up through your chameleon! It's working, people love creating them and earning money while they sleep.
The free plan includes real-time analytics, geographic data, and device data. Most all competitors paywall this. Paid plans go deeper: longer history, richer metrics, more QR generations, campaign features, etc.
Two things I'd love honest feedback on:
If you already make links or QR codes for clients, content, or events: what would get you to move to something that also pays you 10% recurring vs. staying where you are?
Any feature that would tip it into a no-brainer?
Thanks for taking a look.
I launched my product on Product Hunt 3 months ago. So far I only have 1 upvote (mine). 4 followers. I figured it was going to be quiet but not that quiet!
Two things I think I got wrong:
You can't build an audience on launch day. You build it much earlier before launch day. I had zero people waiting to support me when I clicked submit.
I also led with what my product DOES instead of what makes it different or unique. The QR code and short link landscape is way more competitive than I realized and I failed to highlight my differentiator.
I
had built a cool AI chameleon generator that's disguised as a viral engine. It's fun, free but
I totally suppressed it.
Curious to hear, for those that had a following pre-launch, did your launch go as expected? For those that had no real followers pre-launch, what was your experience?
