Purl is a self-hosted, open-source AI design generator. Type a prompt, get a full HTML/CSS/JS page streamed live into a sandboxed preview, then iterate by chat or click an element to edit it directly. Every change is a restorable version. Bring your own model (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Groq, DeepSeek, Gemini, Ollama) or run fully offline in mock mode — no API key needed. No telemetry. MIT licensed, commercial use included.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Purl because every AI website builder I tried was great at
generating pages but kept everything — my prompts, my code, my
projects — locked in someone else's cloud.
So Purl is the self-hosted take: git clone + docker compose up and
you're running your own instance. Type a prompt, get a full HTML/CSS/JS
page streamed live into a sandboxed preview, then iterate by chat —
"make the buttons bigger," "switch to dark theme" — or click directly
on an element to edit just that part. Every change is a version you
can roll back to.
Bring your own model — OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Groq, DeepSeek,
Gemini, or local Ollama — or try mock mode, which runs fully offline
with zero API keys. No telemetry, ever.
Built solo, MIT licensed, commercial use included.
Would love your feedback — bugs, feature ideas, or just what you'd
build first with it. I'll be here all day answering questions 🙌
