It makes writing the first draft of your novel as easy as possible by improving the writing experience. It pulls you into your story with audio-visual themes, makes you feel comfortable in your writing space with its minimalist approach, and helps you hit your word count target with features that inspire momentum.
I built Protowords because I sat down to write a sci-fi novel and wasn't happy with any of the available tools.
I noticed that existing writing apps were fine for outlining and editing, but the actual writing...a blank white screen (or if you're lucky, a dark mode) just doesn't cut it when I'm trying to immerse myself in a fictional world. Not to mention the heavy learning and customization requirements to get anything good.
Being the software snob I am, I made my own tool, and it is already the best writing experience for what I'm looking for. The question is... do I have any fellow software snob writers out there or is everyone just cool writing in anything?
