I really like prompts.chat because it feels less like a “prompt dump” and more like a place to actually discover good prompts.
Browsing is super easy (categories/tags + search/filters), and the prompts themselves aren’t just random one-liners; you’ll find structured templates and longer, more useful setups too. The “Featured” section helps a lot when you just want the good stuff fast.
Also, being free/open-source and even self-hostable is a huge plus. It’s simple, practical, and clearly built by people who actually use this stuff.
Awesome ChatGPT Prompts
Hey hunters! 👋
I'm the creator of Awesome ChatGPT Prompts, a GitHub repo that somehow became the #33 most-starred repo in the world with 139000+ stars.
But here's the thing: a CSV file on GitHub isn't the best UX for discovering and sharing prompts. So I (re)built prompts.chat, from scratch. And it's open source. And free. (CC-0 Licensed)
It's everything the community asked for:
🔍 Actually searchable if you enable (with AI-powered semantic search)
👥 Collaborative: Suggest improvements like GitHub PRs (I really love it)
🏷️ Organized with categories and tags
🔒 Self-hostable for teams who need privacy
And it's totally social.
The entire platform is open source and free.
I believe prompts are the new skill, and skills should be shared openly.
Would love your feedback. What features would make this your go-to prompt tool?

Wow, looks amazing. Congrats on the launch @fkadev!

Congrats @fkadev!
Search, collaboration, and open licensing make this feel like a real community tool instead of just a repo. The GitHub-style improvements idea is especially smart 🤝🏼
The open source + self-hosted angle is a big win too. It shows this isn’t about locking people in, but helping the skill spread. Feels like solid, thoughtful work.

Great idea - but the prompt titles tell us absolutely nothing. You could AI that and have a winner

@osakasaul That’s a great idea!
An incredibly valuable contribution to the GenAI and developer community. Huge congratulations, @fkadev 👏👏👏
This looks amazing! 🎉
I love that you’ve taken the community-driven GitHub repo and turned it into a searchable, collaborative, and organized platform. The GitHub PR–style suggestions are such a smart way to improve prompts collectively.
Curious: do you have plans for user-generated categories or rating systems to surface the highest-quality prompts more quickly? That could make it even more of a go-to tool for prompt discovery.
