Skip the heavy Jira interface. PromptJ is a native macOS menu-bar app that uses AI to translate your natural language into Jira commands. Create tickets, log hours, and change statuses in seconds without breaking your flow. Simply type "Log 2h to KAN-5" and hit enter. We support OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini (Bring Your Own Key = no hidden subscriptions). Built for developers who value their time.

Hello everyone! 👋 I’m Elena, the developer behind PromptJ.
So, I finally built the thing I’ve been needing for months. Honestly, Jira is great for managers, but as a dev... opening a new browser tab, waiting for the heavy board to load, and clicking through 5 different menus just to move a ticket or log 30 minutes was driving me crazy. It completely kills the coding flow. I just wanted a quick way to tell Jira what to do and get back to my IDE. So I built PromptJ.
It’s a tiny native Mac app that sits in your menu bar. Now I just hit a shortcut, type "Log 2h to KAN-5 and move it to Done" like I'm texting a friend, and hit enter. The AI does all the boring API work in the background.
I'm also really tired of another AI subscription, so I made it BYOK (Bring Your Own Key). Just plug in your OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini key and you're set(the free tier will be enough, no need to pay for tokens).
I’m giving away some App Store promo codes, you can activate it and use without buying! Here are 5 to start:
1. XERXHJ7LHRXF
2. TYNWEYR4MNJF
3. 3P6HXAWR3PT7
4. 7JN4Y9PNR94Y
5. FN9LYNFMHHAF
(If these are already snatched up, just reply with your biggest Jira pet peeve and I’ll send you one of the remaining 15 codes)
Let me know what you think, or if you manage to break it. I'll be hanging out in the comments all day!
