Does Proenpt work with custom GPTs or only the standard chat interfaces, and does it rewrite every prompt automatically or only when I trigger it?
@nevzat1636963 Thanks for the question! Proenpt works with the standard chat interfaces of popular AI tools, and we're actively expanding compatibility with more experiences over time. If a custom GPT uses the standard chat input, Proenpt can typically optimize the prompt before it's sent.
It doesn't rewrite every prompt automatically. Optimization happens only when you explicitly trigger it, so you're always in control. You can review the optimized version, make edits if you want, and then decide whether to send it.
We designed it this way because prompt optimization should enhance your workflow—not get in the way or unexpectedly change what you intended to ask.
Does it run on top of the API or hook into the browser session directly?
@ersin156178 Great question! Proenpt works by integrating with the browser session, not by requiring users to interact directly with AI provider APIs.
The extension detects supported AI chat interfaces in your browser and, when you trigger it, sends your prompt to Proenpt's optimization service. The optimized prompt is then returned to the extension for you to review before it's inserted into the chat. Your original prompt is never rewritten automatically or sent without your action.
This approach means you don't need to configure API keys or change how you use your favorite AI tools—it fits naturally into your existing workflow while keeping you in control of what gets sent.

We also offer a web app for users who prefer to optimize prompts in the browser or when they're not using the extension. Both provide the same core optimization experience, but the extension is the fastest and most seamless workflow since it integrates directly into your AI chats.
Plugging it into ChatGPT and watching my usual messy questions come back structured like a proper brief was genuinely surprising, way more useful than I expected.
