PremiumGuardHQ is the analytics platform for self-directed traders running the wheel. Connect Schwab, Interactive Brokers, Robinhood, Fidelity or tastytrade read-only, and it detects complete cycles from your actual fills: cash-secured put, assignment, covered calls, called away. It reconciles cost basis, separates premium profit from equity profit, and tells you how much income you can take without shrinking your capital base.
Hi Product Hunt. Mike here. I built this for my own trading desk
before it was a product.
I sell options for income. I learned the wheel from a mentor who
runs a covered-call fund, and I was taught to withdraw premium as
soon as it lands. That worked right up until a drawdown assigned me
stock well below my cost basis, and I realized the withdrawals had
been quietly eroding the equity base that produced them.
My broker could not settle it. Cost-basis adjustments made the
displayed numbers untrustworthy, and nothing separated premium
profit from equity profit, so an assignment could flatter a losing
month and I would not know.
So I built something internal to answer three questions. What is my
real premium yield. What is my equity P&L after assignments. How
much can I actually take out this week without shrinking the base
that generates it. Other wheel traders kept describing the same gap,
so the internal tool became PremiumGuardHQ.
It connects to your broker read-only. It cannot place a trade or
move a dollar, and that is deliberate.
If you run the wheel: what are you still tracking by hand? That is
genuinely how I pick what to build next.
