We did it! Prelint hit #1 on Product Hunt this week - thank you for every upvote, comment and DM Now let me return the favour:
I honestly didn't imagine a launch where we'd have a customer registering every couple minutes - or that I'd spend part of it exchanging comments with one of the world's most popular YouTubers. Wild week.
I replied to every comment on our launch - solo builders, CTOs, investors all interested in the same problem from different angles. Here is how it started in February:
Prelint exists because of one code change. An agent ignored our event-driven architecture and implemented a feature completely bypassing it. The code was technically correct, passed all tests. And nobody made that decision - it was just quietly baked into our product.
That's product drift. It's almost never one big bad call - it's micro-decisions nobody notices for 6 weeks. A change in permissions, a "simplified" billing edge case, a dependency nobody approved. Usually it's good code, wrong product.
So here's my launch offer - not a discount - it's my time.
If you're rolling out coding agents and agentic workflows at your company right now, comment or e-mail me at wojtek(at)prelint.com. I'll share the exact agentic workflows and tooling we use internally to manage 50 production changes a day as a small team and I'll honestly tell you which parts you can solve in-house before you need a tool like ours. These conversations were the best part of the launch and I want more of them :)
Also - if you want to see what your agents have been deciding on your behalf, connect a repo at prelint.com Code PH100 gets you 100$ in free review credits this month - it's full speed AI, but with lane assist.
Congrats Wojtek and team on the launch!
We've had both human and AI PRs pass every check and upon prod review we end up reversing old decisions, excited to try this out.
@guzmanpintos Thanks for the support Guzman! I'll make sure to make time for an onboarding session with your team soon!
AI-generated code will only become more common, so governance tools like Prelint are going to be must-have!
@roopreddy I tend to agree!
I'm on a trip through Poland and I found your QR code poster next to Kraków Zabłocie station. This seems like a product I actually want. Thanks for the free credits.
This is super cool! For a couple days I was wondering if anybody would see them!
Feel free to message me at wojtek(@)prelint.com with any feedback you may have :)
Congrats on the launch! 🚀
I really like the distinction between reviewing whether code is correct and whether it's the right thing to build.
As AI becomes part of the development workflow, I think that second question will become just as important as traditional code review.
Yes! We believe traditional code review can be ran locally to a much higher degree and will get commoditized to a high degree but what doesn't get commoditized anytime soon is the founders' decision making capacity!
@wojtekszkutnik That's an interesting way to frame it. I can definitely see technical reviews becoming increasingly automated, while the reasoning behind product decisions remains much harder to encode. It'll be interesting to see how tools like Prelint evolve as teams rely more on AI agents.
The code reviews are the real bottleneck now, good to see a product that tries to deal with it!
Thanks, Evgeniy!
Honestly, I think long term some code reviewers will get brutally commoditized by the frontier models, but we're building a decision ledger here.
I don't think programming velocity is the currency any longer - companies can buy infinite amounts of tokens and I noticed internally, we stopped doing any sprint planning. Code itself is cheap, but what we do instead is - I block time with my cofounder for taking specific decisions. Once that's done, the implementation part is easy. So it's the founder's decision making capacity that becomes the bottleneck now and you can't buy it - this is what we're solving for and optimizing.
AI can generate code quickly, but making sure it stays aligned with product decisions is the harder problem. Probably the first product on PH which is tackling this issue.
@himani_sah1 not the last, we're coming back with major releases Prelint product releases in a couple months :)
Being a SaaS founder, I love this idea. Preventing product drift feels just as important as preventing bugs. 👏
@iamanantgupta let me know once you try it!
