How does the matching algorithm actually weigh a student's stated career goals against their existing skills, and does it learn from the roles they end up applying to or getting rejected from?
@demirleng78497 Prayaas uses a hybrid matching approach rather than relying on a single factor. The algorithm evaluates a student's skills, academic background, projects, certifications, experience, and stated career goals, assigning weights to each based on the internship's requirements. Career goals help prioritize relevant opportunities, while existing skills determine eligibility and match strength. As students interact with the platform, the system can learn from their behavior—such as internships they apply for, save, accept, or ignore—to refine future recommendations. In future versions, we also plan to incorporate feedback from application outcomes (such as interview invitations or rejections) to continuously improve the recommendation engine while maintaining user privacy.
Finally tried Prayaas and the skill matching felt surprisingly accurate, way beyond just keyword matching. Wish this existed when I was hunting for internships.
