So here's how this actually started. A collaborator sent me a video through Frame.io, a client left comments on it, and then... the Frame.io subscription lapsed. Just like that, we couldn't see the comments anymore. Comments that were on my own project, that I needed to actually cut the video, stuck behind someone else's monthly bill. That's basically why Postille exists. Notes shouldn't hold your project hostage. You write comments in Postille, or bring in ones you already have from Frame.io, Vimeo, a CSV, whatever, and it turns them into real markers, at the exact frame, in Final Cut, Premiere, Resolve, or Avid. Or just a PDF, for whoever's never going to open a timeline in their life. There's also a Web Review thing: one HTML file, client opens it in a browser, leaves timecoded comments, done. One thing worth saying upfront. Postille doesn't touch how you actually get the video file to people. You're still sending it however you already do, Vimeo, WeTransfer, whatever works for you. What Postille takes care of is everything after that: the comments, the markers, the documents. That stuff stays on your Mac. No account, no subscription, no server involved.
