PortfolioFuture helps investors identify ETFs and mutual funds that deserve attention, evaluate better ways to own them, and separate replicable from differentiated returns.
How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?

Astra changed what felt realistic to build as a solo founder.
PortfolioFuture began as quantitative research around fund alternatives and fund replication. Astra helped me turn that research into a much broader product — accelerating implementation, debugging, data workflows, and UI iteration without forcing me to reduce the scope of the idea.
That let PortfolioFuture grow from a fund-research tool into a broader discovery and decision layer for investing: helping investors discover what deserves consideration, understand what an investment adds, and evaluate whether the evidence supports a better choice.
The biggest change was ambition: I could keep the full product vision instead of designing around the limitations of a one-person team.

Opportunity is often shaped by distribution.
Which school someone attended, which network they entered, who already knows their name, and who is willing to consider them can influence whether their ability is ever seriously evaluated.
Investing works the same way.
The largest and best-known investments begin with attention already on their side. Others may never enter an investor’s consideration set—even when the evidence suggests they deserve a closer look.
PortfolioFuture was built around a simple belief:
Better deserves a chance to win.
