Made this to review a product I bought

I have been using a Poopail for over a year now, and I honestly hate it. It is a glorified bucket. In my opinion, the only going for it is that the smells do not come through much when it is closed. I will list my main complaints below: - The bags that come with the PooPail rip very easily. Both when trying to transfer the bag from the PooPail to the trashcan (yes, I have to re-pick up all the poo) and just when trying to put a bag into the bucket. Just today, my bag ripped when gently lowering it into the bucket for a new use - and once there is a rip, the rest of the bag crumbles. For transferring to the trashcan I have resorted to first transferring my recent pick-up and bag to a grocery store plastic bag that is more durable (so what is the point of the PooPail bag then). I initially thought this might have been a fluke with the first box of bags, but no.. this has happened with every box I have purchased. - When the bags are placed inside the bucket, the bag is held up by four holes on the interior of the bucket. These holes have 'flaps' (this is the best way I can explain it) that are supposed to make it difficult for the bag to come out prematurely. There are four of these holes, one on each corner, to keep the bags in place. At the first sign of hot weather, the 'flaps' in these holes have warped causing some to fall out. This means the bucket does not securely hold the bag on one side. - The scooper that comes with the Poopail is completely useless if you have a lawn, especially after a rain. Reason being, the poo sinks further down into the lawn after a rain and scooper is exactly that - a scoop. It has no way to reach down and grab anything below the grass surface. I don't even use the scoop because of this. - It is EXTREMELY messy. The holes to hold the bag are on the inside of the bucket. From the inside, you put the bag through the holes so the corners stick out from the exterior. Why does this make it messy? If you do not have the aim of a Marine sniper when placing newly scooped poo into the bucket, any poo can easily scrape the 'bag handles'. When you go to remove the bag you have to delicately pick up the bag in the perfect position or else you WILL get poo on your hands. Not to mention the only way to remove the bag is also from the inside - AFTER scooping the poo.

It lets flies breed because the lid doesn't sit on tight. The tabs inside rip the bag up on removal. Locks intended to hold bag in place constantly fall out. Paul is top heavy and product is generally all around cheap. Home Depot bucket with lid and a metal ash can scooper will cost about 10 bucks and way surpass the quality of poo Paul. White trash bags from Costco are cheap as well. Avoid poompail.

Stay away from this company

I backed what was falsely advertised as in production and soon to be shipped on Kickstarter. It was all false advertising and took a year to get my money back as the storey continued to change. I demanded for privacy my details be removed from their database. Here we are 3 years later and they finally got what appears to be a bad product to market and now I’m bombarded by illegal emails as they had to remove my details under privacy laws. What do I think, sham company, illegal practices and poor product. I brought my own bin, good but biodegrading bags and use my metal pooper scooper. Costs less, works better, no flies, no mess and no illegal emails. Stay away.

Good concept but cheaply made for the price. They also wont let you leave a review on their website (only place sold) and only show positive reviews.

I LOVE my PooPail. It's the best way to keep my yard clean. I noticed the complaints listed here were not about PooPail, but because it took so long for delivery. Well, it was worth the wait.

I backed this project on kickstarter over two years ago. I honestly gave up on it, and I know the owner went through many problems with COVID. It finally arrived Jan 2023. I am very pleased with the design and ease of use. I have two large dogs and the weather on the east coat of Canada is very rainy. So there are some days that I cannot pick up after my dogs because my back yard turns into a very shallow pond. I have the medium height one. It saves my back from having to bend over, and I’ll admit I am not getting any younger. The scoop is perfect hwighr for me (5’5”) to sweep/fling poop right into the pail. The only way I think the design could be improved is by offering a metal scoop option for customers that live in areas where winter freeze happens. I don’t want to break the plastic but I did not trust it was strong enough to pry frozen poop that had previously been rained on from the ground. Otherwise, I am so glad this finally arrived and it made my clean up job today after 3 straight days of rain, followed by an overnight freeze, much easier.
