Nespresso uses proprietary barcodes on their pods. In order for your pods to work on Nespresso machines, are you infringing on any patents?

@kitchengeek Hi Chris, I actually read through the comments on the original Kickstarter just now and it seems it does indeed work with Nespresso using appropriate codes (it has been tested and everything). I did not find any indicator or information about patents but I did find a thread where somebody inquired what will happen if Nespresso updates their machines and made the pods unusable due to a code update where the creators mentioned that if they decided to update the codes it will make the Nespresso pods unusable as well which leads me to think they are indeed using the proprietary codes. Probably it would be a great question to ask the creators themselves via the Kickstarter comment section.
