Hi ProductHunters, in the last few years I started to binge listen some Spotify Podcasts. The more I got into them and tried to find specific old episodes of them, the more I wished that Spotify would release an app made for their amazing Podcasts only. Because that did not happen and because Spotify offers a great API, I just decided to build the app myself and realised that it could be useful for others as well :) And at this point: Thanks to all early access users which gave me some really helpful feedback and crashed the app on their devices, so I could improve to this stable state it has now! 🎉🎉

Thanks for the product. I tried and it did not auto play the next episode. Can there be settings for that, and sorting based on date as well?

@congnc yes, I'm also missing that feature, but unfortunately the Spotify interface does not support the queuing quite well. I tried some hacky workarounds but they're too unreliable to be released, sorry. What kind of sorting by date additional to the timeline view do you wish to have?

@sebschaef I see. I'm also not sure how and when the auto play queue works in Spotify itself. About the sorting, sometimes I would like to play the oldest unplayed episode.

@congnc right, same for me 😄 This sorting is also missing because a limitation of Spotify's API. They have only one sorting to get episodes: by show and from latest to oldest. The only workaround would be to load all episodes, but that would most likely exceed the request limit. In general, there's so many things and filters I would love to include, but it's just not possible for now.

@edodaddo this happens sometimes when the Spotify app has some issues or if you're logged out in the Spotify app. Maybe this helps you somehow 🙂

@edodaddo oh no, sorry about that 😟 unfortunately I have nobody around me with a Xiaomi device to debug this. My best guess is that it kills some background task of either Spotify or Podify. Maybe you can have a look at dontkillmyapp.com and find a solution there.

The only way to solve (perhaps) the problem would be to disable MIUI optimization (a fancy option in "Developer Options") but if I did, I would surely have some problems with other apps I use. I hope your app becomes more and more popular and that other Xiaomi users can find a way to make it work. Thanks again for all the advice and sorry for the inconvenience! :) PS. if it can help you solve the issue in the future: a notification from Spotify, saying "Podify is connecting", is constantly displayed in the notification bar without anything happening.

Estube probando el producto y le falta soporte en español, y como ide me gustaria que tenga apartado de recomendaciones de podcasts y no solo de Spotify si no de las diversas platafoass de streamin en podcast y que tuviera un apartado social basado en opiniones, Tambien recomendaciones y notificaciones de acuerdo a tus gustos otra idea que se me viene en mente es añadirle cuanto tiempo se usa que tuviera analíticas Es genial esta app asi como a Va pero señor desarollador Seria genial su app si fuese como la app de SPOTISTATS de ese estilo ✨ Felicitaciones.
