A 550-page practical guide to platform engineering for senior engineers and engineering leaders. 32 chapters covering Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD, supply chain security, IDPs, observability, AI-native infrastructure, and the organisational patterns that make platforms succeed. Written by a practitioner with 20 years in fintech. No vendor content. No fluff.

Hey Product Hunt! I am Jordan, the author of The Comprehensive Guide to Platform Engineering.
I spent eighteen months writing this because the resource I wanted did not exist. Most platform engineering content is either vendor marketing, conference talks covering one specific problem, or beginner tutorials. There was nothing that covered the full picture for senior practitioners who need to make real decisions.
The guide is 550 pages across 32 chapters. It covers the full platform stack from infrastructure and Kubernetes through to AI-native infrastructure and agentic engineering, but also the parts that most technical resources skip entirely: the business case, the organisational change work, and what platform engineering actually looks like inside regulated financial services environments.
I work in fintech. I have spent two decades building and scaling platforms where downtime has a real cost and compliance is not optional. That context shapes every chapter.
A free sample covering the business case framework, an AWS reference architecture, and a scaling case study is available at https://platformengineeringguide... if you want to try before you buy.
Happy to answer any questions about what is covered or the thinking behind specific chapters.
