Thanks for the hunt @husseinyahfoufi! Your timing is uncanny—after many months in closed beta, we just announced we would begin opening up Plasmic to the world this week. When we started work on Plasmic over a year ago, we set out to build the creation tool we've always wanted. A tool to tear down walls and rethink the collaboration workflow. A tool that delivered uncompromising code but was approachable to any non-developer. A tool that blurred the lines across vector design tools, website builders, CMSes and IDEs. A tool that was finally a WYSIWYG builder that had no ceiling. A tool that was easy to start with but had unrivaled depth and power. A tool that was open-world, a "universal builder" you could bring to any environment. And much more. There's still much to be done; we continue to pour our hearts and souls into Plasmic. We're excited for what's yet to come, but we're *especially* excited to start sharing Plasmic and building our community. We're already in production use in teams small and large, and from this we know there's nothing more rewarding than hearing from users and seeing Plasmic in use. Thank you for the upvotes and support. We can't wait to see what you make.

I've been using Plasmic and I am very impressed. @yaaang maybe you can explain us the difference with similar products. I know the difference and Plasmic is superior than the competition, that's why I would love you to share it.

@francovg_com Thanks so much Franco! It's a great question—the world certainly has no shortage of design tools, page builders, and the like, so what makes Plasmic special? Here are a few juxtapositions: It's a design tool that builds the real thing. You can start with drawing free-form wireframes, but ultimately express all the states, layouts, and nuances needed for production-grade frontends. It's a page builder that plugs into any environment. There's no walled garden. You truly own the code, you can host anywhere, and you can work with your choice of stack. It's a WYSIWYG editor that was built to work deeply with code. We're always expanding what you can do directly in Plasmic Studio but you should never be limited by the tool; you should be able to create anything with it. We hold ourselves to this—Plasmic was built in Plasmic! It's a UI builder that isn't clunky or highly technical. It doesn't require you to become a CSS expert, and is accessible to non-developers. Even for developers, it simplifies and unifies CSS, sparing us from figuring out arcane layout minutiae. It's a creation tool that welcomes everyone. We actually believe design tools and page builders can be quite intimidating and hard to use. (Plasmic still has much more work to do here!) It's a CMS that lets you author free-form content. Rather than block on development cycles for templates and schemas, you can create any aspect. Plasmic instead works *with* structured data from headless CMSes (and you can use its components and slots to model lightweight structured data directly in Plasmic).

There is no real competition for this. Everything else promising in the space either falls short for dev experience or gets acquired by a bigger fish and disappears (see the sad story of Visly)
Chung Wu
@bstocks We were big fans of Visly too and were sad to see them go... Hope Plasmic will be able to fill in that gap between design and code!
Sam Gerber
@bstocks lol I was just thinking I needed to text you about this and here you are :)
Ben Stocks
@sambgerber Ha! I'm happy you thought of me after seeing this product :) You might be the only person that knows my niche that well. If I hadn't already found it, I would have been super happy you pointed it out to me. It's actually an improvement on Visly in many ways. It does still have looming risk of small team in an early phase - but was so frictionless to incrementally onboard into my workflow that I couldn't resist.

I've been playing around with Plasmic since early alpha (almost a year) And we're now using plasmic for our entire web app in production. I believe the solution they provide is far better than any other tool is creating a seamless handoff between design, production-ready code, and deployment. Our designer is empowered to instrument pixel perfect, responsive design. Our experience source of truth is plasmic and it's visible to the entire team. I also believe smart frontend developers appreciate the time it saves them; focus less on boiler plate code and instead focus on where client code creates added value. We're soon putting up a new landing page; Thinking about messaging/design took up the majority of the process. From design -> code => deploy only takes minutes. And the design is pixel perfect. ♥️ 🤩

@marcojelli We're super grateful for your taking a leap on us since the earliest days Marcus!

@marcojelli You guys are building things that are 🔥🔥🔥

This is by far one of the most empowering tools to come out in a while. I’ve been using it since September of last year, and week by week it keeps on getting better. If you’re a designer/no coder/visual developer who wants to make world class applications, or a design/development studio looking for a way to serve your clients better, and faster— I highly recommend checking out Plasmic.

This is an excellent product, exactly what we were looking for. One question, can this product be integrated with backend where we can read / write data? For eg. some input value in front end which we want to store or some search function in front end where data needs to be pulled?
Chung Wu
@akhil_gupta3 Absolutely! Plasmic generates presentational React components from your designs. These components expose a flexible API that allows you to do things like activating variants, filling slots with real data, adding event handlers, etc. You can make use of this API to connect up the presentational components with your business logic and data.
Chung Wu
@akhil_gupta3 Here's a walkthrough on doing this: https://docs.plasmic.app/learn/m...

@chungwu Thanks this answers my question.
There are some vitamins and pain killers on the market. In my opinion, Plasmic is a pain killer, no doubt. We have tested the tool in the early stage and realized it solves well-defined pain points in the teams and increases productivity. Personally, I like the less-code more than the no-code concept. This one does both. Somehow with the Plasmic UI, you feel like "yeah, it should be the way to do that"
Chung Wu
@mehmetkose Really appreciate it! Totally agree with less-code vs no-code -- there will always be a need to express custom behavior, and code is just the best way to do it. We believe in no-tedious-code 😁
