This is a fun little project.
Ngl, when I first saw the name Pitchbar, my brain somehow went straight to pitch decks instead of football scores. I guess I’m a bit too deep in the startup bubble at this point... 🫠
But the actual idea makes a lot of sense. A lightweight menubar app for World Cup scores is exactly the kind of thing that can be useful without becoming another distracting full-screen app or browser tab. I especially like the spoiler-hide option and the ability to make flags less distracting. Small details, but they show you actually thought about how people might use it during work.
Curious if you plan to keep Pitchbar World Cup-only, or could it support other leagues/tournaments in the future too?

I'm really happy you noticed this, I take pride in these little touches.
As to you question, I already thought about the larger competitions – Champions League. It's probably a bit more complicated to add country leagues, but if I manage to find a source for data, I see no reason to not expand the app to support leagues and tournaments – I'll actually look into this tomorrow, another thing that might be pretty fun.
It looks great! I believe google already has this option of tracking matches on live. The features on your app looks really interesting. What made you decide to build this instead of using existing options?

@reda_roqai_chaoui Thanks. Google has it, sure, but then you'd have to go to Google - which is a bit less interesting to me.
I've build it for a number of reasons:
I wanted to practice Swift before I tackle my next big project
Wanted a free alternative to paid apps
I have a lot of opinionated features in the app and planned
It's fun (the only thing that's not is Apple trying to charge $100 to notarize a free app)
Wow, This tool is so interesting. Can you add live stream or reply link for each match?

@sleekzheng I think you know the answer, I wouldn't want to deal with any copyrighted material, especially from FIFA. My source of data for matches is from the official ESPN API so it's all sanctioned and in the green.
As to the "Reply link" - no idea what you mean, care to elaborate?
