Finding the right tech shouldn't require technical knowledge. With Pinpap, you simply describe what you're looking for in your own words. Pinpap considers your needs and budget, recommends suitable electronics and household appliances, and explains why each product might be a good fit. The goal isn't to find the most expensive or powerful device, but the one that actually meets your needs. Pinpap is currently available for the German market, with support for both English and German.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm a software developer with over 13 years of experience, and Pinpap is my first attempt at building my own product.
The idea started with my elderly neighbor, who would occasionally ask me for advice on buying tech. Things like: "What laptop should I get if I only want to write emails and browse the internet?"
It made me realize how difficult buying technology can be when you don't understand all the specifications. Most people don't need the fastest processor or the most expensive device. They just want something that works for them.
So I started building Pinpap.
Instead of selecting dozens of filters, you simply describe what you need in everyday language. Pinpap looks for suitable products and explains why they match your requirements.
It's free to use, and I plan to support it through affiliate links.
After leaving my previous job, I finally had the time to turn this idea into something real.
A quick note: Pinpap currently focuses on the German market. The app supports both English and German, but product availability and retailer offers are based in Germany.
I'm still improving Pinpap, and I'd really appreciate your feedback.
I'd especially love to know:
Does Pinpap understand what you're looking for?
Are the recommendations and explanations actually helpful?
Is anything confusing or missing?
Thanks for checking it out! 🙂
