Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Ernesto. I built PikaIA - an open-source app generator that runs in your browser.
What it does:
- Write specs in plain English (Interface, Behavior, Style)
- Click "Render App" → get working HTML/CSS/JS
- Extract specs from existing HTML (reverse engineering)
- Refine specs with natural language feedback
- Switch between 10+ AI models
- Preview on desktop/tablet/mobile
- Export standalone HTML files
What makes it different:
- Single HTML file - download and run, no dependencies
- BYOK - bring your own OpenRouter key, no subscription
- MIT licensed - fork it, modify it, self-host it
- Privacy-first - all data in your browser's localStorage
- Model flexibility - free models to premium (DeepSeek, GPT-5, Claude, Gemini)
Why I built it:
I guess I wanted a prototyping tool that I could tweak. Something transparent - where I could see the code, control the costs, and not be locked into a walled garden.
Also because I think SaaS is over, oops! Something else must come!
