Today I'm launching PicEat on Product Hunt 📸🍽️🔥
PicEat is a carefree food diary app created for teenagers at my daughter's request.
No pressure about calories. No guilt-inducing notifications. No apps telling you how to live your life.
Just take pictures of your food, save memories, and track your habits in a way that works for you — without the stress.
Why I created this app:
- Teens hate apps that constantly give them advice and nag them.
- Keeping a food diary shouldn't feel like punishment for dieting.
- My daughter and her friends wanted something simple and non-judgmental.
PicEat is available on iOS and Android from day one.
The free version allows you to save up to 5 photos per day and includes ads, but they are intentionally minimal and unobtrusive — your experience comes first.
What's already there:
- Optional reminders (only if you want them)
- Personal notes and mood tags for each meal
- Optional geotagging to help you remember where you ate those delicious croissants
What's coming next:
- Full history view with interesting visual trends
- Small achievements — no stress or pressure
If you're looking for an honest and relaxed way to track what you eat, PicEat is for you.
I welcome your feedback, suggestions, or honest opinions in the comments 🙌
Let's finally make keeping a food diary an enjoyable activity.
