Good lord, it's 2025 and Apple still doesn't offer a way to sort your photos and video by file size? Nor a way to quickly find the Top 100 (or 1000) photos in your library of 40,000?
By sorting your library by file size, you could easily offload large, unneeded files - and free up tons of space in iCloud. And by sorting on quality, you could find and delete the thousands of useless screenshots, memes and bad shots cluttering up your library and forcing you to pay more for iCloud storage.
Well, this indie developer can get you sorted. Literally.
My app PhotoSort sorts the iCloud and Mac Photos library by file size and aesthetic quality. It creates two albums in the Photos app:
SizeSort: To identify the biggest space hogs filling up your iCloud storage;
QualitySort: To separate your best shots from the mediocre and rubbish ones.
Try it for free. The free version reveals your 30 largest files. The paid version (a piffling $5 for lifetime use) reveals the full sorting and creates the two albums.
You'll never have to worry about the 'iCloud Storage is Full. Upgrade' message again.
