Hi everyone, I’m Harshita, Product Manager at Pinecone.
Today we’re open-sourcing pg_pinecone, a Postgres extension based on Pinecone’s search engine, under the Apache 2.0 license. By default, indexing and search run in your own Postgres, with no Pinecone account or API key. We built it for teams that already run search in Postgres and want better results without moving to a new database. For example, filtered searches return the rows they asked for.
If search outgrows your Postgres, one SQL command moves it to Pinecone with pg_pinecone remote. Postgres stays your source of truth.
