This is Ruz, the builder of Pesky.ai (and LeadShark.io - lead magnets on autopilot)!
When I launched LeadShark exactly two years ago on Prouduct Hunt, my goal only goal was to reach $1K MRR as a solo founder. (and of course, this didn't happen over night!) But after a few months, it really started gaining traction! Eventually reaching a total of ~500 paying customers in March of 2026!
But this "success" also brought along something I never saw coming! A few of my paying users, it turns out, were also building their own "similar" solutions the entire time! Clones, competitors, and similar launches started popping up on AppSumo, PH, and worse yet, they were pretending like they were the original 😭 and I was the clone all along.
Roll the clock forward 2 years to today. I think there easily has been 10+ direct clones of LeadShark (under eerily similar names like LeadDuck, LeadCheetah, LeadZebra - ok I change them a little bit, but they were very close!)
It is not hard to see how.. Back in 2023-2024, it was not this easy to clone a SaaS! It took some technical skills, and some grit to build even the easiest of SaaS platforms. But now all it takes is a Claude Code subscription, a MacBook (or smart phone!), and an empty weekend, and someone can (and most likely will) clone your SaaS while sipping Mai Tais at a beach club in Bali! 🌴
This is why I built Pesky 🦄 an always-on AI agent, that monitors whoever is circling your moat!
