I love Tamagotchis! I'm also excited about the prospect of AR games that work well, so this seems GREAT! Downloaded right away. The AR is a bit glitchy. Like, the Peridot “sits” in the air, or it thinks it’s behind something when it’s right in front of me. The ball in fetch goes through walls… And so on. But I like the spirit! You know, I was crazy excited about Pokemon Go when it first launched—it even got me to go outside! But then Niantic banned rooted devices and I could no longer use it :) Even though you didn’t need root access to cheat, all rooted phones were banned to keep the game “fair” :) I’m still very sour about that, so we’ll see if this is worth it.

Once upon a time this was a little childhood dream, now it is a reality.

Congrats on shipping, Peridot AR Tamagotchi team! Love to see more original, new projects from Niantic that nudge people to go out for their daily walk and spend more time in their local communities.

This is my first time really trying out an AR product and I'll admit - I'm impressed. The design is superb and you can tell a lot of work went into making them both visually beautiful and technically brilliant (each "Dot" is genetically unique and learns as they grow). It feels like a Pixar character came to life. I only wish they prompted you to create an account asap, otherwise if you uninstall the app you lose your Dot. Happened to me once and now you can bet I'm never uninstalling it again. Lesson learned lol and rip my first Dot.

🎉 Congrats Niantic on the launch of Peridot! 🤩 This tamagotchi-style game takes augmented reality to a whole new level with its groundbreaking Perigenetics System, producing infinite unique pets called Dots. 🌈 The technology behind it is amazing, with real-time mapping and AI enabling Dots to understand and interact with the world in adorable ways. 🐾 Can't wait to see what other magical creatures Niantic will create! 😍 What inspired the team to create Peridot?

Cool cute experience ✨. Can't wait to see the massive magical land become the new trend and take over the world again soon 🥳. However, yet to now the app hasn't supported any of my Android devices 🥲.

I really love the character design and interaction with the environment. Can't stop playing for last couple of hours, I believe that this is amazing modernized version of OG Tamagotchi !

Love this game! I’ve been following its development and the team really pulled out all the stops in making the Dots (your in-game virtual pets) feel alive. This is the perfect game to play while out and about or walking your dog. I’d even say it surpasses any AR game out there for effective & thoughtful use of AR—I’m continually impressed by how well the Dots interact with their environments and how good Peridot’s system is at recognizing different surfaces/materials/objects. Not to mention the Dots are just so stinkin’ cute!
