Hello hello, I started building PeersUp because I kept having the same problem. I’d meet someone at an event, connect with someone on LinkedIn, or get introduced through a friend. We’d have a good conversation, say “let’s stay in touch,” and then a few weeks later I’d realize I never followed up. Sometimes I remembered the person but couldn’t remember exactly what we talked about. Other times I had the conversation somewhere in WhatsApp, LinkedIn, email or Instagram and had to search around just to understand the context again. And sometimes I simply forgot completely. I tried using normal CRMs, but they never really clicked for me. Most of them feel like they’re made for sales teams managing deals. I didn’t want to put every person I meet into a sales pipeline just because I wanted to remember them and stay in touch. That’s why I started PeersUp. The idea is pretty simple: keep the people you meet, the conversations around them and what you’re trying to achieve with those relationships in one place. Then PeersUp helps you understand what to do next. You can ask something like “Who should I follow up with today?”, “Who did I meet at that event?”, or “Help me reach out to these founders.” It can help draft the message, schedule it, create a campaign or bring back the context you forgot. One thing I care a lot about is that AI shouldn’t pretend to be you. I don’t want PeersUp automatically sending random AI messages and calling that networking. The user should still be the person building the relationship. PeersUp is there to help you remember, think and actually follow through. We’re still building and changing a lot, so I’m especially interested in hearing how other people deal with this today. Do you actually have a system for keeping track of the people you meet, or do most of them just end up somewhere in your contacts like mine did?

I think networking has a follow-up problem

Been thinking about this a lot while building PeersUp. We already have enough ways to meet people through LinkedIn, events, communities, intros and everything else.

The part that keeps failing for me is what happens after. You meet someone, have a really good conversation, say let s keep in touch and then two weeks later you realise you never followed up.

That s the part I want to fix with PeersUp. I m starting to think networking doesn t really have a meeting problem, it has a follow-up problem.

After an event, what do you actually do with all the people you met?

I was looking through some old contacts today and realised there are people I had really good conversations with and then just never spoke to again.

Curious what people here actually do after events. CRM? Notes? Just LinkedIn? Nothing?
