1. Light matters more than angle — sit facing a window or lamp instead of behind it
2. Lead with a real question, not a generic "hey" — it gives the conversation somewhere to go
3. Let silence exist — video chat isn't a race to fill every second
4. Keep your first call short — 10–15 minutes is plenty to know if you want a second one
