What do you think? …

George Apostolov
Congratulations on the launch. Some of the patterns look very nice. Although, I still have to figure out how to use them in my design. Do you know some websites which are using similar pattern designs or how did you think of this idea?
Thomas Haustein
@telltrail Thanks for your feedback. I have seen those pattern less on other websites, but more on print or poster designs. The style is inspired by Bauhaus that used mainly basic shapes to create new designs. How I came up of this idea? I was working on the branding for one of my other projects and created an algorithm to generate patterns. Therefore I thought this could be useful for other designers too.
George Apostolov
@thomas_haustein Yes I saw that the shapes are very unique, Did you use any specific library to generate the patterns?
Thomas Haustein
@telltrail No, I just used my own code. Took me a while to figure out what looks good and is a balanced pattern.

Hey, fellow hunters and makers! We are super excited to launch our beta of patternpad.com here today, a tool that let you create pattern designs effortlessly. This is only the initial version and a lot of features are still in planning. Nevertheless we would love to get your feedback to keep improving. What do you think about PatternPad and what would be your suggestions or critique? Thanks, Thomas

@thomas_haustein Hi, love the idea! My suggestion would be to integrate a color palette generator like coolors.co because 1. The choices on your website are limited, and 2. It's tougher to choose a complementary color when seeing it in a pattern Overall a great tool for , personally, presentations.

Сool service, but why are you so similar to https://magicpattern.design (@draptis )? Do you have common roots or it is another illustration of the fact that good ideas come to different people at the same time?
Jim Raptis
@renat_abyasov1 MagicPattern had never relation with this project. In fact, MagicPattern was released 3 months earlier and unfortunately there are too many similarities!

Does it have an api?.
Thomas Haustein
@originalankur Not yet. But maybe we will add an API.
Inna Pantileeva
@originalankur Hello! Can you please tell me what you need an API for?
Ankur Gupta
Imagine having a mobile app or website that shows tons of content or cards. An api to create a banner at load or runtime with arguments like a colour palette. It could be on the lines of placeholder.it/800*600&primarycolor=blue
Sandoche
Hi it does not work for me, otherwise I would list it in https://undesign.learn.uno/patte...
Thomas Haustein
@sandochee Can you give me some more details what is not working? Blank page, Pattern generation not working etc.? And your device, resolution etc. - That would be great. You can send it to thomas@patternpad.com Happy to fix it!
Sandoche
@patternpad @thomas_haustein Just added it to undesign!

Well done on PatternPad! This is a great tool, @thomas_haustein. Thanks for making this and sharing it with PH community. I definitely see myself using this. Feedback: - In the editor, under the style section, I think it should be "Presets" instead of "Presents"? - Instead of having to click the refresh button every time I make the change, I'd rather have it auto-refresh. - Under the size section, I would write "Cols" as "Columns" to be consistent with the other fields and to also reduce the cognitive load on users who are unfamiliar with the term cols. - Would be great adding a social share button on the website. - I'm also curious about licensing. Do I need to link back? Can I use it for commercial projects? It would be great if you could add a note on your website about it.

@thomas_haustein @clydedsouza Many thanks for your detailed feedback! Really appreciate it. The labels have been changed straight away. The other points will be added shortly 👍
