Hi everyone! Excited to finally share Pastok with the Product Hunt Community. 😄

Here’s the problem we noticed: the most important context in our lives doesn’t happen in meetings. It happens in hallway chats, random brainstorms, doctor visits, even dinner conversations. But most of that disappears. And even when it’s captured, it rarely comes back exactly when you need it. Knowledge workers still lose ~29% of their week just trying to recover information they already had. The dots never quite connect.

Pastok is our attempt to fix that. It turns your Apple Watch and iPhone into ambient, proactive intelligence that remembers, surfaces patterns, and connects the dots for you.

What it does
📍 Quiet Capture: Runs in the background on your AW, catching what matters. Nothing new to carry.
🧩 Smart Recall: Surfaces to-dos, commitments, and ideas. Chat with your past conversations, revive context, see what’s emerging.
🔍 Proactive Insights: Spots open loops, early signals, and themes across conversations you'd otherwise miss.

Why it's different
Think of it as a tiny Chief of Staff:

🧭 One Step Ahead: It gets the answer to the next question before you even ask, surfacing angles worth exploring, and bringing to you the right information exactly when it matters.
📊 Blind-Spot Detection: Acts as an objective mirror, revealing patterns in communication, decisions, or habits you wouldn’t spot on your own.
Connect the Dots: Links a hallway brainstorm from three weeks ago to the strategy doc you're writing today.

Now, I know what you’re likely thinking: "...but what about my privacy?"

🔒 Privacy is the Core: We use Pastok ourselves every day, so we built the security we'd want for our own families: Audio is processed encrypted and deleted immediately after processing. Your data is never used to train models.

Plus, it's optimized for all day battery life. Early users wearing it 8+ hours report only ~15% extra battery use.

A few moments from early users that made us smile
- One user felt overwhelmed during a doctor visit with all the instructions. Pastok caught every detail and nudged them two hours later: "Blood test results due now. If good, head straight to the doctor before 4pm." He made it just in time.
- Another user noticed how differently they spoke to their kids. Pastok surfaced a pattern of warmth with one child and a more authoritative tone with the other. A small but eye-opening insight.

We’re launching today to share what we've built, hear what resonates, and learn where we can make it better.

Thanks for checking it out! See you in the comments! :)

This is a profound and ambitious product—turning ambient conversations into a proactive "cognitive safety net." The privacy model (encrypted, immediate deletion) is essential for something this personal.

A key technical question on the "proactive insights": How does the AI determine relevance and timing for surfacing a past conversation or commitment? Is it based on calendar context, location, keywords, or a more complex model of your current tasks?

@olajiggy321 Hi Agbaje, thanks for the thoughtful question!

Under the hood, the AI continuously analyzes each day's conversations to generate structured memories, including the topics involved. These topics become the primary indexing layer.

When something needs to be surfaced, it's not triggered by a single signal like a keyword or a calendar event. It links current context to past content through topic-level associations, and when needed, actively searches across historical conversations to pull in the most relevant details. Timing and relevance emerge from patterns over time, not isolated mentions.

Happy to dive deeper into any specific aspect! :)

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. That approach—using topic-level associations over time rather than single triggers—is sophisticated and feels right for the vision.

It gave me a simple idea on how to communicate that complex 'proactive' engine in a more intuitive, benefit-driven way on your landing page. Something you could try on your own.

Best way to share it with you?

Sure, happy to share it here.

The Idea: A "Proactive Insight" Demo Story

Instead of just saying the AI 'surfaces relevant past conversations,' show a concrete, relatable story in your hero section or a short video.

Example Narrative:

  1. Monday: You have a coffee chat with a colleague. You mention you're 'researching venture studios.'

  2. Thursday: You're browsing an article about startup funding. Your watch gently taps. Pastok surfaces a note: 'On Monday, you and Alex talked about venture studios. Want to revisit?'

  3. Benefit Shown: The AI connected a broad topic ('venture studios') from a conversation to a related activity days later—not from a keyword, but from a contextual association.

Why it works:

  • It's tangible: It turns a complex technical process ('topic-level associations over time') into a human moment everyone understands.

  • It builds trust: It shows the 'proactive' promise in action, not just in theory.

  • It's inherently viral: This story is something early adopters would want to tell others about.

You could test this as a simple written use-case on your site, or even a short, silent looping video showing those three steps.

It’s a communication layer that makes the sophisticated tech immediately relatable.
