Hey Product Hunters, I'm a developer, this is a small project I came up with the concept when writing @typora (which I missed its launch on PH 😂). When coding, I really like the efficiency of "Command Palette" function in code editors and IDEs, such as Sublime and VS Code, I use it a lot. And I want to use it in other apps as well, even through they did not implement that feature, so I don't need to remember shortcut keys or find & click toolbar buttons or menus, that's basically why Paletro is made. Please try it for free and share me your feedbacks! --- Also, I use the "Open Quickly" or "Go To..." feature in those IDEs very frequently (usually with key binding ⌘P or ⇧⌘O). It's not supported in Paletro yet, but I]d like to add this into Paletro in future if users also found it's helpful. --- I'd love to hear any questions, suggestions, or criticisms!

Super nice! I am using Alfred to achieve something similar, but this is much more polished.

@tafkaf Same, but this is MUCH more streamlined and so much faster than the Alfred workflow. 👏👏👏 !maker

Basically a better UI for "command + shift + /" i guess?
Yohanes Bandung
@herbertpoul I thought so when I first looking at this, then I remember that some app I use don't support cmd+shift+/ to toggle help. Those apps are bitwarden, discord, slack, insomnia. those are all electron apps. discord and insomnia is good that they assign the afore-mentioned short-key as "shortcut help popup". I don't know whether chrome or vscode assign the short-key for anything. I don't use them. But I think, the maker of this app also see this problem and decided to make this. What makes me chuckle is that half of the listed apps on their landing page provides "Help shortcut cmd+shift+/". To dev: You are making a good and helpful app! Keep up the good work and I hope for your health in this pandemic situation

@ybbond good point re. slack/insomnia.. but this got me thinking if there might be an alfred workflow, and there is actually an old one that does exactly that https://github.com/BenziAhamed/M... .. after some playing around permissions it seems to work perfectly in catalina, and also has no problems searching for actions in Insomnia or slack. 🎉️

@herbertpoul all these praise to alfred, I am interested but 25 euro seems too expensive for something I don't know will use or no. I am a shortcut person, I defined lot of Mac shortcut in the preferences for any app. I use Vim so I prefer apps that can be used with keyboard (arrow key excluded). Do you think I will enjoy Alfred?
Herbert Poul
@ybbond to be honest, i've bought it like 4 years ago (for 20 euro at the time).. i really like it.. (mostly, launching apps, API search (dash), emoji 😅️ and snippets) but nowadays there are quite a few alternatives.. from spotlight to lacona (which seem to be a bit more actively developed although it seems. But the 25 euro value of alfred vs. the 7 USD for paletro, i'd still go with alfred.. ymmv

This is just amazing, I've tried it in Figma and worked in all of Figma's settings but couldn’t launch plugins any help with that? If this can work it's an instant buy for me!
Nate Heagy
@tnsrig Might be a limitation of Figma being a web app?
Thanasis
@nheagy I've tried it on the Mac app, although it's still a wrapper I think.

This is awesome. Thank you for making it.

Purchased after 5min of use. When paired with Drafts or even Brave Browser, it becomes *powerful*. If it continues to behave solid and fast, this will be a Default app alongside LaunchBar for me.

Absolutely awesome. This feels super instinctive and clean, instant buy.
