The idea for oss.gg was born exactly one year ago 🐣 For the previous Hacktoberfest at Formbricks, we ran the FormTribe hackathon: There was so much to build and we wanted to give back to the community, so we organized a hackathon with cool prizes. Anyone could take part, contribute with code, writing, memes and more and collect points. At the end, we raffled cool prizes among all participants, like a MacBook. (and a few months later, we even hired one of the top participants for a full-time role 😎) It was a lot of fun! And a lot of work 🫠 So we came up with a concept to automate away the tedious things (awarding points, updating leaderboards, etc...) so there is more fun to be had for everyone! Last year at the Open Core Summit in San Francisco I gave a talk on our learnings and the outline for oss.gg (sorry for the bad audio quality...) Since then, together with our community, we've built out oss.gg over the past couple of months 👷‍♂️ 🏗️ 🚧 And today is the big day - it's launch day! 🚀 We are suuuuper excited to have won 6 more up-and-coming open source projects for our Hacktoberfest hackathon this year.
