Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Orbo after moving countries and repeatedly running into the same problem: making international calls is still unnecessarily expensive and complicated.
There are plenty of ways to message people today, but when you need to call a bank, government office, hotel, landlord, or someone without a smartphone, you’re usually dependent on legacy carriers with opaque pricing and poor experiences.
What stood out to me wasn’t a lack of technology, but a lack of interest to solve a real problem a lot of people still have to deal with. Most alternatives are subscription-based, overbuilt for businesses, or optimised around bundles and subscriptions rather than real usage.
As messaging apps became the default, straightforward international calling was largely neglected -- despite it still being a critical need for many people. I wanted to build something simpler, more transparent, and immediately usable.
Orbo lets you make international calls directly from the browser with a pay-as-you-go model. No subscriptions, no contracts, and no hidden fees, just clear pricing and a reliable high quality calling experience when you need it.
Orbo is live today, and I’ll continue iterating based on real usage and feedback.
I’d love to hear how others here manage to stay connected aboard, and what kinds of problems do you usually face?
