We originally started working on this after repeatedly debugging strange authentication behavior in containerized LDAP environments. The difficult part was that most failures didn’t look like failures. Containers restarted normally. Replication appeared connected. LDAP stayed “healthy”. But authentication behavior slowly drifted underneath: * inconsistent group resolution * delayed queries * permission mismatches * replication inconsistencies between nodes Most setups handled initial deployment well, but restart behavior and long-term consistency became unpredictable over time. So we started rebuilding the environment around operational predictability: * idempotent initialization * replication validation * indexed authentication attributes * startup consistency * safe configuration handling The focus became making LDAP behavior stable after the 100th restart — not only the first deployment. Would genuinely love feedback from engineers running LDAP, authentication infrastructure, or identity systems in production/containerized environments.
