Hey Product Hunt ๐
I'm the maker of OpenClean.
I built it because every "PC cleaner" I tried did the same three things: invented
problems, promised fake speed boosts, and buried an upsell in a scary red screen.
So I made the opposite.
OpenClean shows you an *honest* picture of your Windows system and cleans only what
you choose:
๐งญ Overview โ a real system score with the exact factors behind it (reclaimable
space, startup load, drive pressure), not a made-up number.
๐งน Cleanup โ always preview temp files & caches before anything is deleted. You
decide what goes. Never silent deletion.
โญ Startup โ see autostart entries and their real boot-time impact, and toggle them
(never delete โ always reversible).
๐ก๏ธ Privacy โ find and clear privacy traces.
๐๏ธ Uninstall โ programs by size + a scan for leftover folders/registry remnants.
Single uninstall is always free.
๐ Duplicate finder โ exact duplicates by SHA-256, safely removed.
What OpenClean deliberately does NOT do:
โข No registry "cleaner" (it does more harm than good โ we left it out on purpose)
โข No telemetry, no account, no background service
โข A free install makes zero network connections. None.
It's open source (.NET 10 / WPF), code-signed, ships in 7 languages, and there's a
portable single-file build that runs from a USB stick with no install and no .NET
required.
It's open-core: everything above is free forever. Two power-user conveniences
(scheduled cleaning + batch uninstall) are an optional one-time purchase of โฌ12.99 โ
no subscription โ but the app never deletes programs itself, it always calls the
vendor's own uninstaller.
I'd genuinely love your feedback โ especially on the "honesty" angle. Ask me
anything, I'll be here all day. ๐
