OpenAlgo Charts started from a simple frustration while building OpenAlgo: charting is such a core part of a trading platform, yet developers often have to depend on closed, proprietary charting systems with limited control over how deeply they can customize or integrate them.
I wanted a charting library that we could truly own and extend. Something built specifically for financial markets, open source, fast, customizable, and easy to embed into trading platforms, broker terminals, exchanges, and financial applications.
What began as a charting component for OpenAlgo gradually evolved into a standalone project with drawing tools, 100+ indicators, custom indicators, watchlists, option chains, order placement integrations, and much more.
The bigger goal with OpenAlgo Charts is simple: give developers an open foundation for building serious trading interfaces without being locked into someone else's charting platform.
