What do you think? …

This looks very interesting for terminal native users. However, I would strongly recommend focussing on a GUI for distribution PoV. People who are comfortable with Terminal are also people who are capable of getting the outputs one way or the other even if this tool didn't exist. So target on the other segment of users.

@viks_rum what if you just ask Interpreter to build a native GUI interface for itself?
Killian Lucas
@viks_rum Hey Vikram. 100% agreed! This project is all about converting natural language > machine code with a strong focus on non-programmers, so I'm totally aligned with your vision. It shouldn't require a terminal, a Python installation— anything. It should be an app. Happy to report that a desktop app with a ChatGPT-like GUI is in development. You can sign up for early access at https://openinterpreter.com/.

@viks_rum @ibaldo meta!! would love it if someone tried this and told the discord how far they got. or we could try it on the next livestream
Vikram Aditya
@ibaldo That's not a bad idea. Who finds a kick out of these things? Let's tag them :D

Killian Lucas
@cyriljeet Thanks Cyril! Good luck on the upcoming CloudFunnels launch.

Does it use a local LLM?
Killian Lucas
@sentry_co Hey André! Yes, run `interpreter --local` to install and run CodeLlama (private and free).

This looks slick!
Killian Lucas
@lucas_pilzen Thanks Lucas! If we got married you'd be Lucas Lucas

Sarvpriy Arya
Is it available or just in concept phase
Killian Lucas
@sarvpriy_arya Hey Sarvpriy. Available today! You can play with it in the interactive Colab (https://colab.research.google.co...), or run `pip install open-interpreter` in your terminal to download it to your computer.
Sarvpriy Arya
@killianlucas can't we use it with other models from hf
Otman Alami
what about security ?
Killian Lucas
@otman_alami Hey Otman! Open Interpreter asks for verification before running any code, and Eric Allen made a pull request recently that will be in the next version which does the following: - Uses guarddog to scan pip/npm packages - Uses semgrep to scan code for vulnerabilities If you have any ideas about how to improve security, please consider joining the Discord!
