Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built OffgridCam around a simple idea: an old iPhone can become a useful home camera without an account, subscription, or cloud server sitting between you and your camera.
Live video stays on your home WiFi. But there’s one interesting exception: Away-from-home alerts.
When you’re out, you can still receive motion or sound alerts, while the camera footage itself stays on your Camera device. It uses Apple’s iCloud infrastructure for the notification — not a server we operate.
That balance between local-first privacy and actually being useful when you’re away was one of the main things I wanted to get right.
Would you trust a setup like this with an old iPhone? And what would you use it for — baby monitor, pet cam, or home security?
