The king of PKMs. Where all my writing, clippings from all the resources, thoughts, planning, projects, daily journals live. Has all the aspects of a sustainable and enjoyable software model IMHO: - majority of features free for life - a sustainable business model beyond that - a vital and passionate plugin developer and enthusiast community - your data locally stored in plain text with no compromise in all the fancy features that competitors offer but instead lock your data in a database or cloud storage.

The best free app for writing notes in markdown there is. Packed with useful features, and community add-ons make it even better. I use it extensively in all my workflows.

Speed & simplicity for note taking & knowledge management. Moved away from Notion after it became sluggish

With Notion, OneNote and Evernote I feel like my notes are held captive. I migrated all my notes from various note taking apps to Markdown, and I'm using Obsidian to manage them.

I really like this note-taking app. It's like building with LEGO bricks—you can create features you like. The data can be stored locally, so it feels very secure. I didn't do any complicated configurations; the main thing is to keep thinking and recording.

I built an app called Dunno about a decade ago. It should have evolved into something like Obsidian. Obsidian is an incredible app and a fantastic foundation for a second brain.

I like its speed of working firstly. And then the UX and UI are also like in IDEs or text editors which makes it more appealing.

Great for keeping notes organized. Visualizing links between notes as graph is great, I wish they did even more with that idea
