Love the cross platform and ability to sync with alternive solutions for free (ex.: iCloud) Tried a few markdown editors and they all have nice designs, but this is my favorite one so far after ~1 year of use (other than code editors hehe)

Great alternative to other note- or "PKM"-apps. Obsidian works with Markdown files in local storage, making it easy to use sync tools you already use. What makes Obsidian truly great, is the plugin system which allows developers to create truly custom experiences. You can work with your Obsidian notes like in any other app, but using third party or even included plugins, you can make it your own personal second brain with back-linking, daily notes, a dashboard, tasks, and so much more. This means that it requires a lot of up-front customisation to get it to look and work as well as other more "out of the box" apps. However, I personally feel like Obsidian, in comparison to these other apps, after configuration works a lot better with my personal workflow, as I can customise it in a way that works the best for me.

I am still figuring it out and mostly using it as an alternative to Notion. Notion has too many features which I do not need for journaling. Where as one note comes as a close competitor. I don't see a lot of difference so far. I am missing some key features like being able to create a new page inside a specific folder. I am glad to still explore it more.

Obsidian is a terrific way to take and organize notes. Creating links between notes (or topics, ideas, or whatever you want them to represent) is super easy. It feels lightweight and very fast compared to alternatives, yet it is quite powerful. The base functionality can be extended further by installing one of the many available community plugins. Excellent support for customized hotkeys.

Absolutely love obsidian, it is easily the best markdown editor i have ever used , wish the price for sync was lower though !

It is a great tool to unify all your notes, ideas and links. It has allowed me to reduce the use of paper considerably without compromising the privacy and availability of notes offline.

Obsidian put you on control of your knowledge base. While on Notion you need to handle the complexity of workspaces and online/offline work, Obsidian bring you back to the simplicity of file based work.

Lacking a built-in drawing tool, it would be cool to combine canvas and excalidraw.
