You have 4 corner numbers which you use (you don’t have to use all 4 of them) in conjunction with +, - or * buttons to get to the middle 'target' number. There are three rounds (so three different 'target' numbers) per day.

It's been a few days, and I keep playing, and today was the first time I got an extra point for speed (I think I could have gotten one yesterday), haha, I'm having a lot of fun!
@emnificent Fantastic! Well done. I'm delighted that you've been going back to it. I find it definitely takes your head a few days to get to know the numbers and how you can use them. Thanks for letting me know - it's very encouraging!
Congratulations on launching Numbobulate! It's a clever twist on daily brain exercises, and the simplicity of the concept is really appealing. One suggestion: consider adding a feature that lets players track their improvement over time. It could enhance the experience by making it more rewarding. How did you come up with the idea for the game?
@daxeelsoni THanks Daxeel, It started out life a game I played while hiking with the family and friends. I would give them 4 numbers (4 is an easy amount to hold in your head at one time) e.g. 2, 3, 4, 5. The first person in the hiking line behind me had to get to 6, the next person to 7 , then 8 and so on. I made it online earlier this year, and 'public' today!
@daxeelsoni Good idea. After a number of games (9), you get a player level and a player score. That player score increases or decreases with every subsequent game so gives you some indication of whether you are getting better over time, but your idea would offer more specific feedback.
@daxeelsoni So,... all of the corner numbers will be 4 different single digit number always, while the target numbers will always be double digit. The idea is to help people become more familiar with their 'every day ' numbers or 'walking-around' numbers is the term I use so the name comes from that: Numb from number and ambulate from walking around.
@daxeelsoni The 4 corner numbers stay the same for a full week so that you really get to know them.

Congratulations on the launch of numbobulate!I'm curious to know more about any additional features or future plans you might have for numbobulate.com. Are there any plans to introduce different difficulty levels or perhaps a competitive element where players can compare scores with others?
@echo645 Hi echo645, Many thanks for your question.
The difficulty levels aspect is somewhat built in as follows:
a) New Numbers are out on a Monday and you play with them for the week with the targets getting progressively harder - so if you do well on a Monday, you should find it more difficult as the week goes on.
b) Target numbers started out all being < 50 to give people a chance to get up to speed with the game. They are currently < 60 but will increase again at the end of this month. As I widen the range of available target numbers, the game gets harder.
c) There are inbuilt difficulty levels in that you get 2 points for a correct answer but you get a bonus of 1 point per round for a speedy correct answer (so you can get a max of 9 points in a round). Because the speed limit to qualify for this bonus is quite short it can be quite a challenge to get 9 points day after day.
d) If you are still finding it too easy, you can turn on spicy mode under settings which sets a 90 second timer after which the game ends - this has a very interesting impact on people as they get very worried if they are spending too much time on one round that the won't have enough time left for an as yet unseen round.
e) There is also a player level and player score which you qualify for after 9 games and every subsequent game has an impact on your player score. Subject to your player score being high enough, you have an opportunity to up your player level after 27 games and again after 99 games.
With regards to the competitive element, we are currently in trials with around 10 groups of 10, who are submitting their results on a daily basis for a week and their best 6 of 7 results counts towards their weekly score - at the end of the week - one person is declared the winner. The idea is to be able to roll out a version of this in a future release.
I am also testing presenting people with the average score for that day at the time I give them their results - to see whether this adds a positive competitive element or whether people feel it adds a negative element. (currently the latter is winning)
Kind regards and thanks again,
David.
