Noxis started with a friend complaining. He works in occupational health and safety, and here every workplace has to file a lighting measurement report under a regulation called Res. SRT 84/12. He'd spend a morning taking readings with a lux meter, and then a whole evening in a spreadsheet — running the uniformity math by hand, cross-checking every point against the minimum required values, and pasting it all into a Word template that had been copied and re-copied so many times nobody remembered where it came from.
The measuring wasn't the hard part. The paperwork was.
So I built the boring half. You load the measurement points, Noxis runs the normative calculations and gives you the protocol.
What changed along the way:
I started thinking this was a calculator. It isn't. The math is the easy part — I got it working in a weekend. What took months was everything around it: what the inspector expects to see, which fields can't be missing, how people actually work in the field (offline, on a phone, in a plant with no signal). Every one of those came from watching my friend use it and getting told I'd gotten it wrong.
The biggest shift in my thinking: I stopped adding features and started removing decisions. A person filling out a report at 9pm doesn't want options. They want the thing filled out.

It's built for one Argentine regulation, which makes it a strange thing to post here. But the problem underneath — professionals doing compliance paperwork by hand because nobody bothered to build them a tool — is everywhere.
