@thebarber Invitee can change the setting which are allowed by services (Netflix, Prime videos, etc) without the need for password. Notopass is not controlling user behaviour, they are just setting the session on invitee app( through web-view) or on the browser (using Notopass chrome plugin).

Hello Product Hunters! Are you worried while sharing your account credentials with others as it might be misused or can be further shared? Here, I have made something which might be useful for you. Notopass is an Android app that will let you share your accounts like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify, or even Udemy & Coursera to your friends/family or colleagues without sharing your actual username/password. It works basically on the concept of cookie sharing. Here, you are required to 1. Create a group from available accounts on the Notopass App. 2. Log in once into the account, we record your session and encrypt the data using the AES-256 encryption method within your phone. Is this something which can hurt the business model of OTT Platforms or any product that works on the subscription model. Given that now users have even an easier way to share accounts with other non-paid users without the product knowing that the account is shared between multiple users. ?makers

@a_nubhv Hi Anubhav, regarding your concern, many OTT services have a limit on how many devices can simultaneously stream content, so even setting cookies will not bypass this.

Also, What stops a friend of mine (with whom I have shared my Netflix Credentials like a favour) to setup notopass and share my account even further in his group, In Ideal case he would not be able to do so because of the OTP which only I would get. ?makers

@a_nubhv Your friend cannot invite other users in the group, only owner has permission to invite people. Also, same Notopass account cannot be active in two devices, so even if he get your OTP he will not be able to login. Love the concept but if you have another password manager installed, it will prompt you to save the credentials after you complete the login process enabling you instantly grab them.

@allnick It works basically on the concept of first setting the cookies on invitee browser before calling the services (Netflix, Prime Video). So the login page does not appear at all for password manager to capture anything. Also, cookies do not contain usernames or passwords.
