Hello everyone! 3 years ago, I hunted an excellent (and super nice looking) mobile app that helped Stripe users turn their phones into a PoS, no hardware required. Today, Nomod still lets you accept payments with your phone, it's also still looking slick, but it added so many features (online payments, discounts, taxes, multicurrency), it's an entirely new product. ✨

We re-branded to Nomod for Stripe last year, https://www.producthunt.com/post..., and launched Nomod proper in early March, and have had our heads down shipping new features since!

Hey PH 👋 Nomod is a beautifully easy way to accept card payments on your phone, with no additional hardware required! 🙄 In 2018, my brother, Aamir started a fitness training business in Dubai and was looking for a simple way to accept card payments. Every payment acquirer he spoke with asked for myriads of documents, forced deposits, and had high costs for hardware. We decided to build him a side-project called Lunatap, an app to accept in-person card payments with your Stripe account. As the app gained traction, feedback from hundreds of small businesses around the world made it clear that not only could we make card payments much easier and faster, but that financial services for small businesses needed a ground up re-write. 💳📲 The early ideas from playing and testing Lunatap eventually turned into Nomod, which we shipped in early March 2021. Since then we’ve had our heads down shipping new features - payment links went out mid May, whilst we’re currently working on supporting Teams, to make it easier for organisations with multiple team members whether they need to accept payments when they’re out making deliveries, or when assisting customers to checkout in-store. 🔮 Where’s all of this going? We’re in the very early stages of building a financial operating system for forward thinking businesses. @anping_lee Unfortunately we don't support input via NFC on iOS as Apple continues to limit use of the NFC chip to reading specific types of tags. Hopefully that changes in the near future! Please feel free to drop us a line at help@nomod.com if you may need any more help!
