We've all wanted to make the next step in our career, but the trend with "Leetcode" interviews makes it hard to advance without spending every waking hour outside of work studying. Recursion, dynamic programming, reversing a linked list. These are not the type of problems we encounter in our day to day activities as developers. That's why @banada and I collaborated to bring you No Dumb Interviews. We want to empower the community, so that the next step in your career is just a little easier to take.

Hi Product Hunt! No Dumb Interviews is a fun project that Lawrence and I put together over the past few days. Sick of terrible job interviews, we decided to make a site where the community can crowdsource rankings. Help us out by leaving a review of your last interview!

Very cool project! We built CodeSubmit to solve this very problem. While it does make sense to assess technical talent during the interview process, it also makes sense to do it in a way that is considerate, fair, and reciprocal. Brainteaser type questions are not only a pain for dev talent - theres little-to-no proof that they accurately indicate future performance. So, it's great to see this list! I can recommend that you add one of our customers, KONUX, to the list. They are extremely intentional in their hiring process :)

Just the site I need! I was thinking about the interview process yesterday and wondered if most HR/interviewers track the longitudinal correlation between interview criteria and success of hires. I think Triplebyte is one of the only companies that tries to improve their screening criteria based on the applicant's success? The interview process interests me because I'm a developer but didn't major in CS so I missed out on 4 years of practicing for algorithm interview questions :D

@rayliverified Check out this article from a product manager at Microsoft (https://blog.usejournal.com/reth...). It seems like they're actively trying to improve the interview process to make it a better experience for candidates.

@_lawrencechau Thanks for the link! Good read

Thanks for showing off the project! Questions: * What did you use to do the ads? * What's your input validation process? * Will there be any sort of search bar or button to add a company that isn't already on the list?
Nathaniel Chen
Hi @philip_kiely We hardcoded our own ad cards ☺️ A search bar is a great idea, we're definitely going to do it! Adding companies is trickier, I might just continue to add to the database myself

Yes please! I don't want to spend weeks on preparing for a job interview learning algorithms I won't use when I'm already a senior web dev
