NICE flips the script on habit apps. Most apps cheer when you fail. NICE doesn't. A Drill Sergeant, Disappointed Mom, Your Ex, Future You, or Your Manager holds you to the contract you signed with yourself this morning. Built on behavioral economics: "Didn't lose today" lands harder than "great job." Habits as if-then contracts. Trigger is mandatory. You pick your own penalty for folding. The discomfort is the mechanism. Try one persona for a week. Widget · No account/servers/tracking.

I built NICE because I kept skipping workouts and every habit app I tried just... clapped for me anyway.
The core idea: most habit mechanics are built around reward. But loss aversion research (Kahneman & Tversky) says avoiding a loss is 2x more motivating than gaining a reward. So I built the app around that instead.
The widget was the unlock. A push notification gets swiped away. But "You folded on day one. Discipline didn't hold." sitting on your home screen until you finish — that's a different kind of pressure.
Five personas, all hand-written (not AI-generated). Drill Sergeant, Disappointed Mom, Your Ex, Future You, Your Manager. Each one in English and Korean.
No servers. No account. No tracking. Everything stays on your device.
Happy to answer anything — why certain design decisions were made, the behavioral economics behind each mechanic, or why I picked these five personas specifically.
