Hi Product Hunt! I’m thrilled to finally share NearbyOK with you all. The Story: The idea for NearbyOK was born out of a deeply personal and frustrating moment. I was waiting at a bus stand one day, and I noticed a girl looking at me. I looked back, and there was a clear spark. But I couldn't walk up and talk to her because her family was right there. Later, I spent hours searching for her on Snapchat and Instagram, but obviously, I couldn't find her. It hit me: How many times does this happen to people every single day? We cross paths with amazing people, but situational constraints, family presence, or simply social anxiety stop us from saying a simple "Hi". Traditional social media completely fails to solve this problem of "missed physical connections". The Solution: I built NearbyOK for everyone who has ever hesitated or missed a moment. It’s a hyper-local social network where you can anonymously drop a confession or a missed connection post tied to a specific location (e.g., "To the girl in the black t-shirt at the bus stand..."). It gives people a second chance to connect without the fear of judgment. You can also read local secrets, find what's happening around you, and make genuine friends in your exact city.
