I never thought a licensed European bank could behave like this. N26 blocked my account on 10 May 2025 without warning, without explanation, and with no access to my own money. All I’ve received since then are vague, copy-paste replies about “technical reviews.” No fraud. No investigation. No response. Just silence while they hold my funds hostage. I’ve: • Sent legal notices demanding a reason for the freeze • Requested all my personal data under GDPR • Filed formal complaints with BaFin and the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Weeks later—still nothing. No answers. No timeline. No accountability. This is not just bad service—this is financial abuse. N26 is acting like an unregulated, offshore scam, not a legitimate EU bank. If I hadn’t reported them to authorities, I honestly believe they’d just keep my money forever. Avoid this bank at all costs. You could wake up tomorrow locked out of your own account—just like I did.

My account was closed due to "violating their terms and conditions" (even though in my humble opinion I was just banking like an average dude). Around 3,000.00 Euros disappeared into the ether and I have not gotten them back as of today.

Ich habe mit N26 und ihrem Partner Upvest eine katastrophale Erfahrung gemacht,die mich über 7.400 € gekostet hat.Trotz mehrfacher Versuche,eine Klärung zu erreichen,verweigern beide Unternehmen jegliche Erklärung oder Rückerstattung. Mein Problem begann mit einer Fehlbuchung und massiven Preisabweichungen beim Kauf von Aktien. Ich investierte 7.400 € in Mainz Biomed Aktien,doch nur zwei Tage später zeigte mein Portfolio einen Wert von gerade einmal 383,84 €. Über 7.000 € fehlten ohne jede Erklärung! Als wäre das nicht genug,wurde ich im Dezember über eine Aktienzusammenlegung informiert,die ebenfalls fehlerhaft durchgeführt wurde.Meine Aktien wurden falsch umgerechnet,und mein Portfolio schrumpfte auf 6,59 € zusammen.N26 und Upvest haben es bis heute nicht für nötig gehalten,das aufzuklären. N26 blockierte den Handel meiner Aktien und behauptete,sie seien nicht mehr handelbar obwohl sie bei anderen Brokern wie Trade Republic oder eToro problemlos verkauft werden konnten.Das ist nicht nur unseriös,sondern meiner Meinung nach potenziell betrügerisch! Seit über vier Monaten warte ich auf eine Antwort auf meine offizielle Beschwerde.Weder N26 noch Upvest zeigen Interesse daran,ihr eigenes Chaos zu bereinigen oder ihren Kunden zu helfen.Ich habe mich bereits an die BaFin gewandt,um mein Geld zurückzubekommen.

Voy a cerrar mi cuenta. Ya he sacado mi nómina de ahí. Me subscribí a cuenta metal y te dan de alta en un segundo. Solicité hace una semana la cancelación y todavía no me dan de baja. Servicio pésimo. He notado cambio desde que me la abrí ahora. Prefiero otros bancos ya no es lo que era. Encima me cobran la subscripcion a metal un nuevo mes habiendo solicitado la baja. Todos los operadores me contestan que han escalado mi asunto y mientras tanto sigo esperando. A seguir escalando y en cuanto se solucione cierro. Que manera de perder clientes por la ineficacia

I am extremely disappointed with N26’s handling of my missing funds. Over two weeks ago, I liquidated an ETF, and the money has still not been credited to my account. Despite contacting customer support several times, I have only received vague responses and empty promises to escalate the issue. The lack of transparency, urgency, and accountability is unacceptable for a bank. This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional, and I am now forced to consider escalating the matter to financial authorities. I cannot recommend N26 to anyone who values reliable customer service or secure banking.

L'internet banking di questa fantomatica banca lascia veramente a desiderare: praticamente non si può fare quasi nulla perchè costringono i correntisti a scaricare l'app. Ad esempio stavo cercando di scaricare la giacenza media per poter fare l'isee ordinario e, da quel poco che si capisce dalle FAQ di N26 (tra l'altro molto vaghe), occorre necessariamente utilizzare l'app. Il problema è che la versione più recente dell'app è così difettosa da risultare inutilizzabile. A me non fa fare nemmeno l'accesso poichè compare una scritta che recita "App in background rilevate. Chiudi tutte le app eseguite in background per poter inserire la tua password" e poi non fa andare avanti. Ma in realtà, al momento di fare l'accesso a N26 non c'era altra app in background al di fuori di N26 stessa!

Your Money is Not Safe with N26 I want to share a personal experience in hopes that no one else falls into the same trap. About a month ago, my wife’s N26 account was hacked, and €870 was stolen from us. We immediately followed the standard procedure, opening a dispute in the app, hoping to get our hard-earned money back. After three long weeks of waiting, N26 informed us that they would not reimburse us. According to them, the thieves used Google Play, which supposedly requires either a password or a one-time access link – something neither of us would ever provide. Both my wife and I are tech-savvy, and I have been working in tech, building apps, and software, for many years. In fact, my company even offers cybersecurity services, so I’m well aware of the risks and how to safeguard against them. We never added the N26 card to Google Pay or any other wallet. Despite asking N26 to show proof of their claims, they took two weeks to respond, only to say that their decision was final and we would not see our money again. To my shock, after searching online, I found numerous others who had gone through the same ordeal. And the worst part? N26 seems to use the same excuse over and over: “Google Pay was used.” I’ve been a loyal customer for four years, even recommending N26 to family and friends, trusting them when they promised that our money was safe. But it turns out, they do not care about their customers' security or satisfaction. If you’re using N26, please be careful. Your money might not be as safe as they claim.

You start using their service, think that how great they are, and suddenly you have a problem, and you write them, and they say "oh we understand you, we are here to help you, we will call you back" and no one calls you. And a day later you call and have the same discussion. I had this loop 4 days in a row. I am not able to use N26 about a week. Every service has issues, but N26 has major problems always. If you care about your mental health, just stay away from them. This time it's last because me, and other 2 persons from my family already opened another bank and close N26. I am the only one who stuck because they do not solve my problem to transfer my funds.

I signed up for the N26 account, and my card and cell phone were stolen during my 3-month trip. I don't have access to my cell phone until I return to my home country so I had to change my number. More than 15 days have passed and they have not verified my identity so I do not have access to my online banking and I cannot know if I have been robbed. I have contacted them more than 20 times through chat and no one pays attention to you. I am totally disappointed with this online banking. I would never sign up with them again. Nobody informs you, nobody pays attention to you. Horrible experience Me hice de la cuenta N26 , y me robaron la tarjeta y el móvil durante mi viaje de 3 meses. No tengo acceso a mi móvil hasta que vuelva a mi pais de origen por lo que tuve que cambiar de número. Han pasado más de 15 días y no han verificado mi identidad por lo que no tengo acceso a mi banca online y no puedo saber si me han robado. He contactado más de 20 veces con ellos a través del chat u nadie te hace caso. Estoy totalmente decepcionada con esta banca online. No me volvería ha dar de alta con ellos nunca más. Nadie te informa , nadie te hace caso. Horrible experiencia
