mysc. is a fun yet powerful tool designed to create, collect, organize and showcase miscellaneous things in daily life that we value but are hard to fit into categories defined by others.
Awesome concept, excited to give it a try! Would love to know where I could learn more about the hardware project, frepo, mentioned on the landing page?
@cedricamaya Glad you like it Cedric, try it out and see what you think! Also I really didn't expect anyone to notice frepo 😂 It's a single purpose camera that designed for progress photo logging (for example, those one picture a day video). I've been polishing it for couple years. The production is currently doomed by the chip shortage but DM me on Twitter if you are interested in it.

I've been using mysc for a while. It's a GREAT tool to organize your daily life and ideas. Definitely recommend. Give it a try PRODUCT HUNTERS!!!
Hey everyone
John here, designer of mysc. I’m fairly new to Product Hunt, so I’ll try my best to make a proper debut 😂
mysc. (lower case m and with that DOT) is the brainchild of our team of 8. We have been working day and night for the past 7 months on this App. It may seem simple from a first look, but you’ll find many attention-to-detail designs if you spend a week or two with it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
❌ mysc. IS NOT a productivity tool
Productivity is such a work-feeling term. We've already had tons of awesome productivity tools, but not many people are going to take advantage of them in daily life due to their work-centric design. Therefore, though inspired by many great productivity software, I still don't want to call it one. Instead, we prefer considering it as a ‘lifestyle’ tool.
✅ mysc. IS a set of functions that cater to our life beyond work
It’s for our hobbies, personal projects, life moments, and random thoughts. There are so many cool things you can do in mysc., and you can read them in the App descriptions. I just want to highlight one feature that we are really proud of:
👏 Connect fragmented ideas across time
Is that a brand-new idea? Or it’s something I’ve seen a long time ago? We are constantly dealing with ideas and information, and saving them somewhere is just the first step. Unlike many Apps with a dedicated search button, we try to blur the line between creating and searching by tokenizing input, finding keyword matches and compiling a list of related cards while you are typing. Not only any related info is always one tap away for referencing, but you may also discover some unexpected inspirations from previous thoughts.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
✅ mysc. respects YOUR CHOICE and PRIVACY. And we believe actions speak louder than words, therefore:
👉 Login is not required for most of mysc.’s core features
It’s kinda nonsense that so many Apps require you to create an account before even using it. We expect some of you may want to try it first before archiving your meme collection here. With mysc., you can use most of the core features without an account and have all the data saved on your device.
✌ You can fine-grained customize your experience
Every App wants to be a social media nowadays. And I admit it, we have social elements in mysc. too. However, we want you to decide whether mysc. is an interests hub or a personal safe space. Therefore, all features that contain social elements are defaulted off, hidden from view, and can be changed at any time. Even the whole Explore tab is hidden and can be pinned to the tab bar by your choice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
❌ mysc. IS NOT a prototype/side-project but a product from a serious startup.
Therefore, I really wish to hear your criticism and suggestion to make it better. You can always reach me at @PaperThatTowel on Twitter or go to our support page at https://mysc.app/help . Love the idea, logo and color scheme, but the design, layout or at least the typography seems a little wonky to me. Maybe its better for smartphones, but on my desktop (windows 10, Firefox) I'm greeted with your "archive anything you value"-headline thats pushed much to far into the browsers border on the left. It doesn't follow the layout of the rest of your page and in turn looks out of place. It also decreases readability. Give it some breathing space!
Other thoughts:
- Try to streamline margins and paddings across the page and sections. Your redefine box looks like it was intended to hover above your forget formats section (which does work on other Browsers than Firefox), while the forget your formats section doesn't have equal padding on the top and bottom. That goes for a lot of elements on your website. Streamlining this (top and bottom padding: 50px for all sections, for example) can definitely improve the overall layout and impression your site makes.
- If you're offering this internationally, I would align the name and logo on the left side of your navigation and the language switcher on the right. I'm not even sure why the name of your site sits inside your navigation in the first place. The logo on the other hand seems much to small if you want to keep it centered inside the header space. Its what drew me to your site, so having your actual logo almost invisible and only applied once on the page seems kind of strange from a branding perspective.
- Your merge section doesn't work for me, typewise. The merge headline directly distracts from every other information thats presented. Since it sits directly in the vertical center, people will have a harder time to read the information above it and might just continue with the text below it and miss it completely. I would keep the layout aligned to your previous section, starting with your "merge" headline and then following that up with "have several broken pieces? Drag & drop to easily merge, organize and reference your info."
- You definitely need a live demonstration further up the page to immediately make it clear to users what your product does. If I read "So we create mysc. to empower you to define miscellaneous your way. Whatever matters to you, drop it down here." My first questions would be: What, where? and How does that work? Your exisiting drag and drop animation later down the page is not clear enough to communicate whats unique about your product. A video or longer animation might help. I would look at websites from Miro or other organizational tools to get some pointers.
Wow @timwldn , I'm speechless after reading such in-depth and thoughtful suggestions for our product. Sorry for taking so long to reply. Gotta take a break after staying up the whole night for our global debut. Thank you. Just, thank you! I really don't have much to push back or excuses to find. You are right. We are NOT doing a good job with our website, and it definitely doesn't meet the standard of what we have with the mysc. App.
I'll make sure all these GREAT suggestions will be the main topic for our UX day (that's when the whole team spends a whole day debating our UX design ideas and discussing good design we saw elsewhere) next Thursday. Tho due to limited resources and development pressure, it may take a bit longer to freshen up the whole website. But I have high confidence that you will see big improvements to our site and have most, if not all, of your suggestions reflected thru changes. The live demonstration is crucial and has been in production right now! I'll keep you updated!
If you are interested, please check out our App in the App Store. I'm looking forward to hearing more priceless feedback from you.

Love this. This solves my "notes" problem perfectly. I can easily jot or put something down and EASILY sort it out later. Easy to implement into my system. Great job!
@fklb High five✋ That's exactly why mysc. has a single entrance for information inflow and the Thoughts/Archives structure. I always come up with some ideas in the shower, or when just getting in bed. I need a tool to save those brittle thoughts as much as possible in 10 seconds and won't bother me with which notebook I should open in the first place. We really want you to spend as little time in mysc. as possible so you can focus on the real world and let your ideas grow into something bigger.

This is super dope. One thing, when checking out via PH on mobile, the auto-play video on your site keeps popping up after scrolling just a bit. Like, over and over. 🙂
@benjaminpolymathologistcom Thanks for your interest! Looking forward to you trying mysc. out. Also sorry about the video issue on our website. Would you please share more information on what device/browser you were using? You can reach us on Twitter(https://twitter.com/myscDOT) or via email at support@mysc.app
