I built MyFinanceToolKit out of frustration. Every time I wanted a quick answer "Can I actually afford this car?", "How fast can I clear this credit card?" I'd land on a calculator site that demanded my email, pushed me toward a paid advisor, or buried the result behind 4 upsells.
So I flipped the model: outcome-first, zero friction, zero gates.
Instead of generic widgets, every tool answers a real question people actually Google. Instead of accounts, results appear instantly. Instead of sending your salary and debt data to a server, everything runs client-side in your browser, your numbers never leave your device.
What started as 3 calculators became 42+ interconnected tools. The Savings Goal calculator links to Investment Growth, which links to Retirement, which links to Net Worth, mirroring how financial decisions actually compound in real life.
The biggest evolution mid-build: I stopped thinking of it as a "calculator collection" and started treating it as a financial answering engine. That reframe drove everything, the question-led page titles, the embeddable iframe snippets for bloggers, the cross-tool journey logic.
