Most budgeting apps are too complicated — so people quit them. I built My Kakeibo to solve one problem: “Where did my money go?” It’s not one big purchase — it’s the small things you don’t notice, every day. That’s why this app is intentionally simple and manual. When you log what you spend, you actually see it — and that awareness turns into a habit. No setup. No friction. Just clarity.
built this because I kept having the same thought over and over:
“where did my money go?”
I wasn’t making big purchases… but somehow at the end of the month it just didn’t add up.
When I actually paid attention, it was all the small stuff — coffee, food, random things during the day.
I tried a bunch of apps, but they all felt like too much. I’d use them for a few days and then just stop.
So I made something super simple for myself.
Just log what I spend, nothing else.
It sounds stupid, but once I started doing that, I became way more aware of my spending — and it actually stuck.
Curious if this kind of simple approach works for other people too
