Moon is a mood diary for iPhone — and a mood tracker that never gives you advice. Its whole value is in surfacing the factors behind your mood — so you can, in the end, make it better. No account, no sign-up.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
I needed this AI diary for myself.
It started with prompts, not with an app. For more than six months I was writing, debugging and testing prompts that could get an AI to read my own entries and find the patterns in them — what fills my mood and what drains it. Most of that time went into the debugging and the testing: getting the model to stop inventing, to stop handing out advice, and to stay with what I had actually written.
Once those prompts finally worked, I built Moon around them. They are still what powers Fills & Drains: the AI pulls the factors out of your own notes, and your own ratings decide which side each one lands on.
What grew out of that:
• Recaps for a day, a week, a month and a year — a story of what happened, what changed, and what stood behind your mood's movements. It looks across your whole history: your rhythms, your best and worst days of the week, and especially the days that break the usual picture. Correlations, not causes.
• Fills & Drains — the recurring factors in your notes: people, places, activities, habits. You see which ones your mood is usually higher with, and which ones lower. No judgments and no advice, just your own data.
• Voice input — dictate an entry out loud and speech recognition turns it into text.
• Widget — log a mood straight from the home screen, without opening the app.
• Charts — day, week, month, year. See where the trend is going, and tap any point to jump back to the entry.
Happy to answer anything — especially about the no-advice rule, which turned out to be the hardest thing to hold on to.

@better_shab Thanks 🫶
The product is so aesthetically pleasing! If I feel Great in the morning then Meh in the afternoon and evening, will these cancel each other out for the daily recap? I can never figure out what was my entire mood of the day because of this... Congratulations on the launch, excited to try it out. (The built-in Apple Health Mood prompt doesn't work on me even with notifications, so hopefully this helps create a sticky behaviour ^_^)
